Atitan Product Overview and Roadmap

By atitan Team8 min read

We're a team of eight based in California, building a connectivity ecosystem on top of next-generation wireless communications. Our initial focus is Auracast and LE Audio over BLE- enabling a dynamic audio experience for consumer and commercial users alike. This post outlines our vision, use cases, and product roadmap: splitR, splitR+, and connectR.

Vision and Use Cases

We're harnessing Auracast and LE Audio to transmit audio wirelessly to an indefinite set of speakers, opening untapped opportunities for new audio experiences.

Personal audio experiences include museum tours where you immerse yourself in an exhibit or tune into your tour guide live through your own headphones. The same technology supports accessibility- many congregations already use similar systems so those with compatible hearing aids can tune in like a radio channel or use a headset at the entrance. This applies to any forum, even a pub where people might want to tune into a specific TV. It creates an entirely new interface for interacting with the technology around us.

Public audio experiences enable ad hoc surround deployments with no need to lay wires or build a traditional network, whether upgrading existing equipment or deploying speakers in new environments.

Technical Foundations: Sync, DSP, and Ease of Use

We're building critical advancements on top of available technology, especially to improve ease of use for commercial and residential surround operators. This includes algorithmic mechanisms for synchronization to account for speaker-to-speaker variance in preprocessing and DSP, enabling tight and coherent playback across heterogeneous audio systems.

splitR: Standalone Transmit, Receive, and Bridge

Our initial hardware platform, splitR, is a fully standalone device with an onboard battery that can operate in both transmit and receive modes. It can originate Auracast broadcasts, receive them, or bridge between wired and wireless audio environments.

A key use case is extending existing wired systems: a traditional wired audio installation can be chained into an Auracast network and operate in parallel with wireless speakers, creating a hybrid topology without replacing existing infrastructure.

splitR+: Hub, Integrations, and Whole-Property Control

Our next-generation device, splitR+, extends this further with home hub integrations across all major ecosystems- including smart assistants, streaming services, and physical ports for high-end audio equipment. splitR+ can function as the control and routing hub for an entire property, whether residential or commercial, while still participating natively in Auracast networks.

connectR: One App for Devices and Playback

On the software side, connectR is our application for managing device configuration and playback across the ecosystem. We've built it to unify Apple Music, Spotify, Tidal, and SoundCloud into a single control plane. Users can create and share playlists that span multiple services, share music with friends even if they listen on different platforms, and creators can distribute tracks or clips directly through the system.

connectR also integrates with existing home hub functionality: users can define spaces as predefined sets of speakers that lock into configuration regardless of protocol, or integrate with splitR+ to gain smart, cross-system orchestration for an entire property.

Looking Ahead

Our roadmap is shaped by feedback from the community and from industry- from CES and beyond. We're refining both hardware and software as we move toward our official product release. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
